Avon floor options

Hi Guys,
I have been working on my Avon Sport S4.60 this long weekend. It is a SIB with a sectional mahogony ply floor. On taking it apart for the first time since I have owned it I found damage to the two boards closest to the bow.
I have decided to replace them, but am pondering a few options...
1. Has anyone ever bought a new floor fom Avon, and knows what this would cost (roughly)?
2. Some one has mentioned using Phenolic board to make a replacement. I am told it is rot proof and needs no treatment. It is the type of board used for truck beds. It is heavier, but apparantly I could use a thinner board than my current 18mm.
3. Make it out of plywood, hopefully marine, but depends on price and availability.
Just hoping for some guidance. What do you guys think?
Cheers,
Geoff

Re: Avon floor options

1-Avon and Zodiac are expensive water toys, so must be floor replacements.

2-If both front boards are ruined, just change these 2, use 18 mm plywood
as original, paint well both sides with urethane and apply 2 coats of marine varnish.

3-Don't know phenolic material anyway should be same thickness to fit inside front panel alum rails.

Happy Boating

Re: Avon floor options

Thanks Sea rider, I am going to go with the marine ply as you suggest.

I heard back from an Avon dealer who said after getting my boats serial that Avon wouldn't supply a floor due to the age of my boat (I asume 1985, as it ends in an 85).
Even though I probably wouldn't have bought it due to price, I was a little dissapointed that Avon, who pride themselves on the durability of thier boats can't supply a floor.
In their defence, I had no idea it was that old.
Cheers,
Geoff

Avon isn't Avon anymore. Zodiac bought it, closed the plant in Wales and began producing boats in old ex-communist Europe. The boats today are just a shadow of what they once were.
