Hi Guys,
I have been working on my Avon Sport S4.60 this long weekend. It is a SIB with a sectional mahogony ply floor. On taking it apart for the first time since I have owned it I found damage to the two boards closest to the bow.
I have decided to replace them, but am pondering a few options...
1. Has anyone ever bought a new floor fom Avon, and knows what this would cost (roughly)?
2. Some one has mentioned using Phenolic board to make a replacement. I am told it is rot proof and needs no treatment. It is the type of board used for truck beds. It is heavier, but apparantly I could use a thinner board than my current 18mm.
3. Make it out of plywood, hopefully marine, but depends on price and availability.
Just hoping for some guidance. What do you guys think?
Cheers,
Geoff
