Got a call from the bank a few yrs ago, "someone tried to chg several thousand to your card in Russia."

So we need permission to take a vacation now?
Thank god for cash.

I check my card accounts every couple days or so. recently had a charge for a video camera on one and 2 Lenovo computers on the other.

My girlfriend had some one use hers to buy Canadian wine. She was more upset that someone used it to buy Canadian wine. Her response was "Who in their right mind drinks Canadian wine and uses my card to do it?"

Being from Canada, you'd be surprised to know that to qualify as Canadian, it requires 25% of the content from Canadian grapes. Most Canadian wines are 25% Canadian, 75% California grapes.... So you're really drinking American wine

Don't get me wrong there are some full Canadian grape wines, but that's not the standard.

About 10 years ago someone used ours to buy $2500 worth of liquor the week before New Years, must have been a helluva party!

Nah...just a way to to take $2 of US wine, mix it and add taxes and tariffs and charge us $15 for it.

The bank told me that it popped us as suspicious because I had just used my card in Ohio a couple of hours prior to the attempts in California. ...sure is nice to know they're watching.

I've had them call me on suspicious purchases that I've made in different parts of the city so they watch... but not all the time. The picked the stuff up around the city, but never once complain when I travel around the world and make purchases hours apart in different countries.... They have triggers, but not sure what they are. They do it because they're protecting their money.... not yours
