Great job, looks realy good
can you give me the height of your center seats,
i'm redoing my bayliner capri, but the shop i had doing the work went out of business i guess, when i got back i had a boat that was gutted out no seat or pattern to build back with, and yes i know the boat is probley not worth fixing, but its the last thing my dad and brother used and not the both of them are dead.
so if you can help
thanks

BTW, I had my 1600 out on the bay with the 2003 90hp Johnson. With just me(, 17 gallons of gas weighing about 130 lbs) two batteries, two anchors, the extra weight of the Johnson and other stuff (and the extra wind drag of the hard top) the 1600 ran better than 40 mph. Topped out at 42 mph according to the GPS. And the speedo was not more than 1 - 1.5 mph off of the GPS. With a little practice with the power trim, it could do even better. And the fuel economy was better. Believe me, 42mph in that boat was a real thrill! And it handled beautifully!

Hope the Force runs a long time. But if it ever needs to be replaced, you know the 90hp will make it fly.

4runneradam, i see that you covered the ski locker. did you remove the ski locker drain making the ski locker area a completely blocked off area? Do you have any pics of the supports you added under the ski locker

Good Morning, I know its been a while since you posted to this thread, but I do have a question. When you tore out your deck, did you also tear out the seat bases?

Unfortunately the Original Poster has not been to iboats since April 2011.

If you click on a username and look at peoples profiles.....it shows the last visit.

If you have a question you could try to send people a PM.......... OR start your own restoration thread and pose the question to the people who visit daily. You may be surprised by the responses you will get.

Please pay attention to the posting dates and check out the profiles and that would help.

hi maddog.

there are several bayliner capri restorations goning on right now in the restoration forum.

the bay liners are all basicaly the same construction from the 16 fto thru the 23 .

yes, the seat bases do come out. to get them out, use a long bladed sawzall and cut ath the base of the seat all the way around.....
the interor of the boxes is foam filled.

please post on one of the current threads. or start your own...

that way we can give you the specific help you need.

Thought I'd update the thread.

No, I did not take out the seat bases. Appeared to be too much trouble to get them out, and I was looking for a quick fix. No ill affects to date by going this route. I used fiberglass mat to join the deck to the seat bases.

The boat is still going strong, everything is still solid. VERY glad I repaired the boat. No regrets.

Any more pics available? I am starting a project on a identical boat and looking for any and all information.
