Re: Bearing Carrier Nut
You could make a tool. I made one for the bearing carrier nut off of a Mercury Mark 55E. I used a floor flange. That's steel galvanized disk with a large threaded hole in the middle to accomodate the threaded end of a pipe. It also has four screw holes that perfectly matched up with the four holes in the bearing carrier nut. <br />Look around a hardware store for ideas. Another idea I had was to take and modify a lawn mower blade to make a tool. It'll have to be dulled, of course! It already has the hole in the center; it'll just need a couple of small bolt holes drilled to accomodate some nice hard grade 8 bolts of a size to fit your bearing carrier nut.
