So I was trying to install new U-Joints on my Alpha one Gen 2 (SN/ - 0D731964), and bent one the ears on the yoke (the one that goes in to the stern drive).
I have bought all the the following new parts;
81819A - Drive shaft assembly - Part 9
816811 - Retainer Ring - Part 14
70937 - O Ring - part 16
823894 - Oil Seal - Part 18
45810 - Washer - Part 25
22339 - Nut - Part 26
I asked a local marina for a quote to transfer the bearings and spacers from the old unit, reinstall on the new, and set the rolling torque.
The drive shaft is removed, and I would only bring the old and the new for transfer.
They came back with a $630.00 quote for labor only.. Does that seem high?? I think so, especially since I watched the video by Chris, and the entire process took like less than 10 mins... I would think it would be a hour at most.. The main reason I was even checking to have someone else do it was because I don't have a the dial indicator torque wrench.. But for ALOT less the $630.00 I could purchase one.. I have all the other tools..
