Best wakeboard helmet?

Been looking for a helmet for this season since I'll be trying to learn some bigger tricks. From searching around it seems the offerings for wakeboard specific helmets are pretty slim. Anyone have any recommendations for a good helmet? I'd love to find one with headphones in the eare flaps, but at this point I'd be happy with a good looking affordable helmet.

As far as water sports go you could try a whitewater kayaking helmet. A hockey helmet would probably work well too and should be readily available at any sporting goods store in your area.

Yeah, seen the kayaking helmets, was just wondering if anyone knew of any wakeboarding specific helmets. Hockey helmet isn't intended to be submerged, doubt it would hold up too well.

Myself and my kids have been using Liquid Force helmets. Paid $30 - 40 as they were outgoing year models. I've found them robust and they came with ear flaps.

Looks like there are some cheap ones listed.

in terms of whitewater helmets the Sweet Wanderer looks like a great design for boarding, or wrsi helmets too. I have a sweet rocker for kayaking, really comfortable. not cheap

I havent been wearing one for wakeboarding yet....but last fall a friend coaught an edge awkwardly, board flopped back and hit his head. Bunch of stitches. I should this season

Yeah, seen a couple nasty head injuries from boards, so I'm wearing a helmet this season. I've narrowed it down to either a pro tech or liquid force, but I'll check out the links posted here, thanks!

Actually, Hockey helmets are commonly used by whitewater rafting oufitters. They seem to hold up just fine. I don't know what the odds are of taking a board to the face, but you might want to consider one of the new full face kayaking helmets.

You want ear flaps on a wakeboard helmet if your can. Something to stop an eardrum from bursting with waterforce on a side impact. Protec makes some for wakeboarding but their are lots of manufacturers. Just make sure it's comfortable. It does not need the kind of impact protection that a bike helmet does as the water is softer than concrete.

I just ordered a set of Shred Ready Can Can ear flaps with integrated waterproof headphones, now I just need to pick a helmet to put them on. I also wear Docs Pro Plugs since I ruptured my ear drum boarding a couple years ago.
