Re: better blue plugs

My question is, I broke one of the blue plugs off while putting it back in. Any ideas on how to get the piece that broke off out?

I'd drill a small hole/indent off-center into the plastic then use something like a ice-pick to turn it. If the plastic is soft enough, you might not even need to drill it...just poke the pick in and turn.

Good Luck!

Agree on the brass plugs...I have the OE ones in my old OMC still after 22 years and they work just fine...I always coat them with a little OMC triple guard grease and they come right out even after salt water use...

Ayuh,... Take the black metal piece Off, so you can get at the plastic piece....
Beat a flatblade screwdriver into it,+ Turn....
Then put in a Brass pipeplug, or even a Stright thru ballvalve or somethin'....
Something that you can Poke through to knock the rust, sand,+ Crap out at winterization time....
