Hoss that CC light is something else, nice score:)

Adds quite a bit of class to the rig, BH style. It looks shinier than the boat for pete's sake:D

Sounds like you've got the freezer stocked, looking forward to monster perch pics:)

Three things, Hoss

1, Can't see any details anymore due to the glare from that shiny hull

2. The bow rail looks like it was made for the SS - perfect.

3. Man, that light looks looks like one from a Revenuer boat chasing rum runners during Prohibition - way cool. You gonna mount a 50 cal. to complete the look? ;)

Very classy indeed. I still catch myself staring at that rig. If you spalsh that thing this season you'd get nominated for spalsh of the year. Don't wait till next year cuz I don't wan't to compete against you.:D

Everytime I see your "Chrome" boat, I start thinking about buying a Tin Boat. It kinda scares me when I think about it.
As usual Great Job!!!!!!

Re: Bighoss' 16ft SS Rebuild

rheagler, thanks man, it's starting to come together now. Just in time to look for another one for next summer.

HA, the light almost looks too nice for the old girl but she's had a rough life so I thought she deserved it. The fishing on Erie right now is phenomenal. The gills on the lakes in the Irish Hills; the best we've seen in years. Hope you guys are doing well up there.

GA, I'm close to retirement so instead of mounting the .50 cal I'll be looking for rum suppliers willing to meet in Canadian waters:)

Mike, the splash is looking grim but we're going to push hard to land at least one fish this season in it. The hold up here will unfortunately be the 90hp! The last thing I thought was going to trip me up. Yup that's a shot at the friend who said it was "solid". Marina being swamped with higher priorities puts the engine done about the time we leave for deer camp.

Keel, are you kidding Buddy?? You contributed the biggest portion of my thread...the boat! It's been a blast giving it a makeover, can't thank you enough. Still pushing to get out there.

EZ, Thanks for checking in on me. You're going to see a pretty familiar console in the next week or so. Shamefully heisted your set-up.

Wood, after seeing the flamingo rebuild I'm convinced you could build a boat from twigs and mud. Looks great man. You NEED to make the jump, I'm going to fill your PM box with good deals from this area. I'll tow it to Iowa and meet you:)

Re: Bighoss' 16ft SS Rebuild

I finally got the bullet end caps and put them on, didn't like them. They looked pretty cheaply made and were already flaking the finish. So as I debated it I drove to a salvage yard in Erie, Mi today. I got a great deal on an entire stainless steel tube rail and fittings from a 24ft Thompson. The entire rail system cost me $30 and a visit from the wasps that were living in the boat. The guy working there got stung several times but Ole Hosses ninja-like reflexes and a lot of running like a mad schizophrenic kept me safe.

Love the boat, hate the console though!! center consoles for life lol. sorry the hate was too strong a word.center console lover here!!!!!!!!!!
