Re: Bilge Pump Hose Location
What a fricken nightmare. So I go to my friends house and grab all his big drill bits. My hose is 3/4 and the O.D. of the fitting was just a hair bigger than 1". So I go through all his bits once I get to my house, no 1". Closest bits are a 1 1/4" hole saw type bit, and a 15/16th" flat bit. So I go with the flat, drill through from the outside in (already predrilled a hole with a regular bit). So I go to put the fitting in, and the fitting isn't nearly long enough to go through. It easily needs another inch. So then I have to go to west marine, and instead of using the $1.29 fitting, I end up with a $30 brass fitting. So I come home and get ready to install them, and the angles of the holes are not perpendicular to the outside of the hull, meaning the external piece of the fitting isn't sitting flush. So I start messing around widening it with my fiberglass cutting dremel bit. This was supposed to be a REAL quick job. Just a quick drill glue done. I'm going to try to finish this mess tomorrow. Hopefully.
