My wife's name is Alice and everytime I want to do something with the boat I seem to ask her about it. (need a new motor? Ask Alice, Want to take it out on the weekend? Well i have owned 7 boats in my 33 years but i only named one. I used to live in Galveston Tx and was an auto mechanic at a local shop. I bought a 20 ft mako center console. I was fired from that job the first week i owned her

Went fishin for a week straight then came stumbling in to work and got fired. Boss called a couple days later and i went back to work. To make a long story short i was fired 8 times in 7 years from same job The boats name was FIRED AGAIN!

I named my '74 Charger Thunderbolt bowrider 'Rump over the Hump.'<br />My girlfriend used to say that everytime she looked at me in the boat, all she saw my rump hanging over the engine hood fixing something. <br />Good ole' Volvo AQ130....Good boy...Don't break.

We decided to rename the robalo "Swampdogg" from "Triple K".<br /><br />Our beach house is built on stilts in the marsh (literally in the marsh, built in '57 before the EPA got involved in such matters), and we call the house the "Swamphouse". Hence the name, but my teenagers wanted to use "dogg" instead of my suggestion "dawg". They watch too much MTV. <br /><br />We haven't made it official beacause we haven't performed the "renaming" ceremony.<br />This is it...http://www.48north.com/aug97/denaming.htm<br /><br />I'll let you know how it goes...

I haven't come up with a good one for my Ranger bass boat yet.<br />My cousin bought a blue and silver 18' Bassmaster this spring. He has had a lot of problems with this boat and has deemed it the "Blue Anchor".

Well lets see, 21 Aqarius didn't have a name that I can remember.<br /><br />The 25 Venture was Shannara, after a character in the Lord of the rings, <br /><br />The 23' S2 was XTC<br /><br />The SeaRay Jet boat is Purple Passion after it's primary color.<br /><br />I didn't name any of them and didn't want to "rock the boat" with bad luck if I renamed them.<br /><br />The many smaller boats didn't have names.<br /><br />The 19 Larson I'm going to pick up this weekend has no name yet. I kinda like Dirty Laundry, we'll see.<br /><br />Thanks for the de-naming ceremony link. <br /><br />Capt'n Steve<br /><br />Not sure if my wife would go for Crack of Sharon, although I think "Plumbers Butt" might be more fitting for what you might see from Capt'n Steve. (nope that doesn't have anything to do with my profession).

Named my center consol Kenner Meg II after my daughter Megan. Sold it and bought a Ranger. Its name will be Feeding Frenzy....

We named my Glastron "Rooster" Because down here when we first took her out the water was really low and everyone was ragging my husband, saying he was going to be throwing a rooster tail behind him because the power trim wasn't working on the boat yet and it sat really low in the water until it planed out. Thank goodness ther prop never got in the mud to throw that rooster tail, but the name stuck!<br />Don't know about the one we bought today... might be "Money Pit" Before its over with. We got it on our 10th anniversary, so maybe we can come up with something to refer to that.. Any ideas?

When all the work's finally done on mine, it'll be "Diver Down". It's gonna be red and white, with the white diver's strip across the deck. My dad and I are going to use it for diving the lakes around KS and MO. It'll mainly be my fishing boat though. It's also named after one of the best Van Halen albums, "Diver Down".

We couldnt agree on a name so I named my boat "Boat" - of course the name came up after one too many beers. It was a hoot and drew many laughs. Unfortunately, my wife's snese of humor isnt too long and we changed it to 2BOYS after my two sons.

Great question.<br /><br />My first woody was named DriftWood.<br /><br />I had a boat that was named (mostly by friends) The Floating Member. Hey, we were young.<br /><br />I had one named Floater and a fishing boat named Salmonation.<br /><br />I have a new woody, any suggestions?
