Re: Boat names.

I had been playing with the idea for a while but could not come up with anything that seemed right. I have a 1968 Mark Twain I/O. So I thought that of two this morning "Lucky 7" cause I have seven kids. Or thre is "Jobless" cause I don't have a job right now, which by the way is alot of fun when you have a boat. Of course, about the middle of September (when my severance runs out) I probably won't think it is very fun. ;)

My recently restored 15' runabout is called
"Revivify" That's what I did to her (bringing her back to life and all) and that's what she does to me every time I take her out!

AJY

Re: Boat names.

Hey JB: This is long but worth the read :)

Well my fishing partners 1969 Bayliner (not really a bayliner but was left over stock from one of two people who joined together to start bayliner so it got the name) When he first brought it home I told him to take off the old metal rod holder so we could put some new ones on. Well he grab a claw hammer and just ripped them off.. When I got to his house and saw what he had done...I told him he was like a Bull in a China closet... Hintz... "China BuLL"

My boat 14 ft alum welded river sled, (Almar) 90hp pump 8hp kicker and Big electric johnson on front..set up as a Bass boat. When I was selling them our Gen manager dared me to take it out since I had the next two days off...after the 3rd time I asked the him (Jim) to hand me the phone.. with Jim standing there I called my fishing partner and said lets go break a boat :) Its the only boat I have ever tried to harm.. we spent two days flying through the air out on the puget sound slam dunking it everywhere... Keith yelled that this baby was really nice.. Hintz: "Baby" stuck..

On a side note JB, later that week Jim came over to my desk and said he couldn't find that Almar anywhere on the lot. Without looking up from what I was doing I just said thats because I kept it. He replyed You-Kept-it?? I siad yup... here are the ser numbers for the boat motor and trailer, write it up ... so I bought it for 300 bucks above cost..

Now my wife was used to the boats in the garage or front yard (depending on size) changing every week... about 2 weeks later she asked how come that one had stayed so long? So I told her that it had followed me home so I kept her... she ofcourse was fine with that, BUT a year later when the renewal notice came in the mail she noticed that it was reg in both our names (community poperty state) she said I don't remember signing anything?? I said well you weren't there so I had the secertary sign for you....WOW I'm still paying for that one.. as late as just last week she was telling her version to the grand kids And that was back in 1990! LOL

Happy boating
Link

Re: Boat names.

My first boat was a 17' Modified V and I called it "51 and then some" because I only paid $51 for the hull, but put a lot more into it.

My second boat I am calling "Second Tri" since its a 1980 15' MFG Tri-Hull and its my second boat.

:p

Re: Boat names.

Hello all,

I just got a 2003 Wellcraft Excalibur.... I got it from a dealer who had a fire. The boat suffered a little smoke damage... the aluminum trim around the windshield is lightly faded.... I need to come up with a name for her..... My wife and I am firefighters as well... I know a lil ironic that we bought a smoke damaged boat and we are both firefighters.... anybody have any thoughts on a name??? I was thinking,, "smokey" or "our smoker"

what do ya think??
