Re: Boat names.

I thought I also would add one of my past boats name.
I named my 1972 19’ Larson “RAGE”. The name worked well when it ran well. If not I could just take off the “E” and call it “RAG” and if I got beat by a newer boat I just took off the “R” and it was “AGE”.
A name for all occasions.

Re: Boat names.

My first boat was a 16 foot fibreglass half cabin called "rei du mar" (was told it was latin for queen of the sea. We towed heaps of broken down boats with her and friends nick named her "little toot". replacement boat is a 21 foot alloy pro sport fisher we called "bravo tango" (for B.T. which stands for big toot). My mate has a boat called "Tubad" tubad you don't have one. Tubad don't use it more etc. Another friend has two old trailer sailers one is a sail boat- flotsam and the other converted to motor boat called- jetsam. Their names I thought are quite clever and amusing. Have seen a huge flash Pro fisher on the ramp called "YFLISS" (say it out loud to get it)

My first boat was a 16' Rinker jetboat. At the time we had two girls, so I named the boat "Girls Only". I've since had my son and oh yea another daughter!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Boat names.

Poplar & ash home-made hunting boat: "wood duck"; camoflage drift boat: "Rancid Rose" and so on. None of them interesting. But my last boat...which my wife wasn't too keen on...I was bouncing various names off her, and I mentioned "Rebecca Ann." "You'd name a boat after me?" she smiled with a wistful grin.
After that I had no choice....

Re: Boat names.

My first boat was named "Double O" as in OH OH. Along the way I had one we named "Plan B". My last 2 boats have been named "Petunia" after my Brother (its a long story) My wife says if I keep on spending money on my boat she is going to rename it "For Sale". I wonder why? I did see a boat once that had the name "Thistle Dew" as in "this will do" I almost hijacked that name.

Re: Boat names.

We found a ugly faded red 14' runabout for 900.00 and deciced it would be a chance to see if we realy were going use a boat enough. Took it to the lake, launched it and it did not sink, so hence it was named BIFF, Becuase It Floated Fine. Loved boating and fishing and found an old 15' open bow tri-hull, again the meta-flec paint was faded so it had to be THE SOB, "Son Of Biff", We just broke down and spent real money on a 24' pontoon, haven't named it yet, since we wakeboard with it and get some strange looks for doing so I was thinking "Looney's Toon".
