Re: Boat names.

Since I seem to foolishly spend money and make fun stuff a priority, I named my Sea-Ray "Squanderer." Great Lettering printed the decal as well as the boat numbers for me and is a wonderful outfit, fast and professional.

More than welcome. May cooler attitudes and common sense prevail.

Re: Boat names.

speaking if intentional misspelling to reveal extra meanings...

i recently saw a very sexy looking sport yacht, in about the 60 foot range with the name of "seaducer".

i don't know if sport yacht is the right word or not but it looked like it had a performance hull and was low slung and sleek. it looked like it might have been very fast for such a big boat. it was in a marina on the french riviera where there is a LOT of money, so it kind of fits my image for the boat. it was of british or british virgin isles registry, if i remember correctly. can you imagine what i must cost to drive a big planing hull from the virgin islands, to france? it would be a quick trip, anyway.

i tried to google it, and found out there are several other boats out there with that name. that was a letdown to me. one was a big, fat displacement-hull fishing boat. "seaducer" did not quite seem to be as appropriate a name for that boat.

Re: Boat names.

I'm not real sure, I'm not rich enough for this yet, but I think quite a few of the high-dollar yachts are transported to vacation destinations by seagoing barges, then off loaded for cruising in that area. Then re-loaded for a trip to the next destination.

Re: Boat names.

I named my current boat "your mom"

It really works for number of different situations:

I'm taking your mom up to the river this weekend to wakeboard behind her
I put 8 people aboard your mom and she still floats
It sure slows my truck down when i tow your mom.

Re: Boat names.

"Thirsty Girl"

We got our first boat in 06, a Glastron 175 SX with a 4.3 in it and after a few days on the lake one of my buddies pulled up beside me in his boat and asked "How is your new boat" to which I replied"well she's a thirsty Girl!

The name kinda stuck and I got our painter at work to cut me out decals and one weekend when I was at the lake without my wife another buddy and I had a few beers and put the decals on. I did not tell my wife what I had done.

The next weekend I was working and the wife and kids took the boat out by themselves and could not figure out why people were snickering when they saw her in the boat. :>

I was suprised she did not make me remove the name and now she likes the double meaning, although we do get pulled over by the parkies once in a while and they seem interested in smelling our breath for some reason.

Re: Boat names.

My brother in laws old boat was a huge thing with two bedrooms that was called The Magic Marlin. We just bought a very old aluminum boat to go fishing in so we are painting on the side....The Magic Molokoy...(Molokoy in Creole is a little green sea turtle) Very fitting for this boat as the engine is 7.5horsepower.

I have an 1985 Cruisers Inc Vee Sport. My wife and I are both Correctional Officers so I called her Loose Screws. Screw is a slang term for jail guard.

A buddy of mine had a catchy name for his boat. It was called "cirrhosis of the river" Said buddy is now doing great in AA.:)
