Re: Boat Names

I had to name one of mine "Dont forget the plug" (self explanitory) . <br /> A friend has one called "Filthy *****" (costs just as much), and another called "Poopee" (its yellow and brown). My uncles boat was named "Wadafukawi" after a lost peecreek indian tribe.

Re: Boat Names

my little 12' is called "ROW v. WADE",<br />I was going to call it "SMELLS LIKE FISH", but then of course the big boat would have to be called....<br />"TASTES LIKE CHICKEN"

Re: Boat Names

I bought my first used boat last summer.. I really wanted a Reinell considering I used to sew for them in '96', but all I could afford was a Used '85' Bayliner.. As for names. I had a chioce of Barbee Bayliner, Bayliner Barbee, Fishin Barb, Got Barbed, Barbee Q, Broke Barb-$, or Barbee Who.. Well I put all the names in a hat and had my son draw the name out. He pulled the tag out that said "Made in China". That is just not right. So He drew out Barbee Q. Thank god I didn't pick out Bayliner Barbee or Barbee Bayliner. The neighbor girls were disappointed, but my son was so relieved..

Re: Boat Names

I bought my first 16' runabout when I was 18 and still in high school. Because I like to tell dirty jokes and my last name is Smith my nick-name in school was Smutt. So the boat was named "Saint Smutt"

Re: Boat Names

My boat is the Rubber Duck V. It's a handed down name. <br />My father built a 280 class hydroplane in the mid-60's, and the first time it was put in the water, my dad's best friend commented that it floated like a rubber duck, hence the Rubber Duck I.<br />His father came to live with us, and he purchased 3 Owens cruisers over the years. (II, III, IV)<br />I bought my boat this summer, and to honor the memory of my dad, I now own the Rubber Duck V.<br />R.I.P. Pop. Miss ya.

Re: Boat Names

I've got a friend whose last name is Stiff, and his boats name is 'Lucky Stiff'. <br />I have another friend whose wife just had a baby and they had a 17'w/90hp Mercury tri-hull with a broken axle on the trailer under their carport. I asked him what he was going to do with it, he told me if I fixed the axle, he'd hand me the title. Named the boat 'Free Ride'. :D

Re: Boat Names

Love all the great names, Y'all!<br /><br />My mid 70-s aluminum V-hull's name is<br />Dead Phish...<br /><br />Floats like a dead fish, often smells like one and mostly the name kinda honors the best live band(s) in the world. (own opinion of course ;) )

Re: Boat Names

Hey Jeff,<br />Good to see another Phish/Dead fan here!<br /><br />Haven't named my boat yet, a red and white BR.<br />I put a list of names up for a family vote...<br />kids and wife prefer "Scarlet Begonia"...<br />I kinda like "Wharf Rat":<br /><br />had 3 mechanical (electrical) breakdowns last season, so the "Rat" aspect seems kinda appropriate.<br /><br />It's running great now, though, and I can't wait for next season.<br />Have a good winter, if that's possible in the Midwest, LOL.
