Re: Boat Names

When I first bought my boat the trolling motor was wired backwards......not to mention I bought the boat before I bought a truck to pull it with! So I decided to name it "Bass-Ackwards", because that seems to be the way everything happend with it.....:)

Re: Boat Names

I've seen an old run-about named 'Cirrhosis of the River.'

I was thinking about naming mine either 'The Angry Goat' or 'Anger n Rage.'

Named my 15ft Seanymph fish-n-ski Bouttime after the 500,000 pairs of shoes I cemented with the same name. After 12 years of wanting a replacement boat for the one I stupidly sold, I figured it was "about time" I got another. So it fit perfectly.

Re: Boat Names

My old boat was a 17 foot Larson Bowrider named Master Baiter. My dad hated calling me on the VHF. My newest boat is a 17 foot 1978 Glastron 176SSV named Water Witch 2 (after my first boat a 1958 Glass Magic).

Re: Boat Names

Originally wanted to call my boat the "Please Don't Sink" as it was an absolute mess when I bought it.

but decided not necessary when we saw no leaks when we filled her with water. So of course... I had to come up with a new name.

Sea U L8R

Ahhh.... being of the dot com generation allows me to use those abbrevs. :)

thnx and ttyl.

Neat boats, had one for sale around here for $550...needed a water pump and cosmetics. I'd have jumped all over it if I wasn't working on my 1975 Glastron V178.

I'd love to see some pictures of that boat though when you are done with it. Does it still have the original cooler?

BTW, the impromptu name for my boat is "Forever" because it's taking that long to restore.

Re: Boat Names

Sorry, couldn't get through every page of this thread but saw a small outboard at a lake here with the name "chicken of the sea" on the transom.. I got a chuckle, told the owner I liked the name and his response was "she don't like saltwater!"

I think I am going to name my boat the same thing I named my 79 Bronco.

Re: Boat Names

We just bought a '77 16' Bayliner tri-hull today. After reading through most of this thread it would seem to be bad luck to re-name a boat (without going through the whole ceremony and purging :)) So it looks like we'll stick with "Goosey II".

That and I can't think of a better name at the moment.

Re: Boat Names

My brother, who has a cat named cat and a dog named dog, named his 14' skif "Boat". He got all the creativity I guess!
