If I am thinking right, wouldn't I adjust the trim tab to the left a bit? This is on an outboard if it matters. And what is this I hear about torque steer (if that is the term), what way does a boat normally want to pull.

Re: boat pulls to the right

Just did a search and I think I now understand that I need to adjust the tab in the direction of the pull. This will push the prop the direction it needs to go, I was thinking it would push the boat.

Re: boat pulls to the right

Torque Steering is cause by the prop rotation (clock wise) and the boat "wants" to lean an steer in the oposite direction (left / port).

It is usually caused by running with too much bow pressure (down). This is usually from motor trim (too far down) or a hydrofoil.

Steering to the right / starboard is most likely from an incorrect adjsutment of the steering tab above the prop.
