boat seat extension vs. new pedestal

instead of the 100 dollar new pedestal cant I unscrew seat from pedestal insert 20 dollar 13'' extension between pedestal and seat

i have a swivel ez standard bass boat seat pedestal on a 98 bass tracker. I am adding a bow mount trolling motor and want to add higher pedestal and bicycle seat type chair for trolling and leaning on seat. New pedestals run 100 bucks but I seen 13'' pedestals that will fit right between my current pedestal and chair

i have the same set up on my dynatrak. I just use one of my four chairs from the back(there all on removable universal mounts) of the boat and put it on a pedestal in the bow and can easily reach the trolling motor i much prefer a full seat to sit on instead of the butt seat type. So yes i imagine that you can just use the 13in pedestal between your current pedestal and seat.
