I’m new here and lots of great information here thanks, I just got the boat to trailer latch last year and my trailer has EZ rollers so it was difficult for me alone to load my trailer. Now with the boat to trailer latch I can do it by my self with no problem at all and be off the ramp in 10 minutes..

I took a chance and ordered one while on sale. I went with the Boat2Trailer unit....20 bucks off and free shipping. Bow curve could be an issue, but I don't think it will. Retired toolmaker here with access to a full machine shop if needed.
did you get installed?

I have a 94 Chaparral SSI 20’ that I have had for a long time and it just turned 400 hrs. It’s got the 5.0 Chevy motor and it runs great. The boat to trailer latch has been on for just over a year now and love it. After a couple adjustments along with knowing just how far to get the trailer in the water it’s been an excellent addition. Like I said I have an EZ loader trailer so it’s got roller wheels and it won’t stay on the trailer when trying to load. I pull it up and it latches I reach over and put the safety cable on and jump out and pull up the ramp and finish loading. I’ll get you a few pictures

yes I did. Needed some fine tuning and getting the trailer the correct depth. Once figured out....it is great ! Like many others, I have a full roller trailer so the boat will roll back with no power from the motor. Rollers also need adjusted so your boat is supported completely by the trailer when it make contact with the latch. Most of the time I am alone and this makes loading so much easier. My trailer is setup so the boat can't load crooked even if you tried. That makes a big difference on how well the system works. The unit is pricey, but at my age and being alone....makes things so much easier and quicker !

Hummm pictures won’t load And I’m not very techie, if you’re ok with it I can send them in an email or a text . I can Pm you if you want.
airshot, my boat is not completely supported by the trailer when I load as the boat ramp is steep but it does not move once it’s latched. Front four rollers are just out of the water.
‘can you guys post some pics of your latch and boat and Joe post a pic of your front that they say won’t work.

I think you have to have at least ten posts to be able to post pictures.

The bow needs to be on an angle where the bow eye is....if the bow is to vertical it won't latch. Mine is close, not angled as much as the factory recomends .. I have to make sure the roller on the latch is tilted toward the ground before running the boat on. If I do that it latches everytime, if I forget, mine won't latch. You boat needs to be supported by the trailer just before the eye hits the latch. The eye needs to sort of slide up slightly onto the pad to catch. On initial setup, if your winch stand can slide fore and aft along the tongue it makes it much easier to set up. If adjusted correctly...you should be able to make the catch by sliding the whole winch post back and have it catch. If it won't catch by sliding the winch post back toward the bow....you don't have it setup correctly, or the bow is to vertical to operate the mechanism. Bows with a steep angle work best, the straighter the bow becomes, the more difficult the matchup becomes until it won't catch at all. Fine tuning is a must. My tow vehicle was just totaled when a guy pulled out in front of me last week so I can't pull my boat out to get pics, but will try to get some one way or another....

too steep of an angle on the starcraft.

All the vids show a today style bass boat.
Same comment they made to me with my Sylvan, except mine was very close to their " limit".... This makes your setup even more tricky....do you gave any pics of your bow from the side. I need to see the winch stand and angle of the bow from the side. How this thing works us it needs to bring the bow eye forward and a slight upward lift as the two connect. If dead straight on...it won't latch. This is why the angle and height are so critical.
This is why my latch needs to be titled forward to latch, if tilted back, the bow eye hits to straight and won't connect. Get some pics and see if I can help you.

Here are some before and after the latch install. Compare the angle of your bow to mine. An angle straighter (more verticle) than mine may not latch. My eye was right under the bow stop which was perfect for height. If your winch stand can slide on the tongue, slide it forward, install the latch and slide it to the rear...it should latch up along as the angle is not more vertical.
