I was trying to do a solo launch at the ramp today. It was deserted, I had the ramp to my self but I was still in a hurry(places to go, fish to catch).
I backed in, climbed aboard pist-n-broke, and leaned over the front to release the winch like always. Well, the winch was bound and wouldnt turn. I tried all I could and no movement. About this time I went ahead and jumped in the ankle deep water and proceded to screw with it, to no avail. It was stuck tight. In desperation I leaned over and gave the boat a mighty shove, at which point the stuck whinch gave up smashing the flying handle into the bridge of my nose. I was compleatly stunned and just sat down, in the river. About three miniutes later I decided that I was bleeding pretty bad, so I grabbed a rag from the boat, re-winched the boat, and drove to the ER.
So, here I sit, 14 stiches later looking like I got in a bar fight and still no fish. Hey, it was still better than bein' at work
