Re: Boating: A WOMAN'S POINT OF VIEW
This is the first thread I've clicked on in "dockside chat" as I have been spending the majority of my time over in Johnson / Evinrude Trouble's and Repair trying to share what knowledge I have.
I have seen a lot of women on boats, and I've had a lot of women on my boat and to be honest most (and I emphasize, MOST) don't take an interest in the technical aspects of it so when we need help with something we'll ask the other men on the boat, or generally get annoyed when we try to ask a disinterested female. That's just the way it is, most of the time. My girlfriend on the other hand wants to know what's going on and gets really mad when you underestimate her abilities. I remember once offering to explain to her what a connecting rod was and she punched me in the arm proclaiming she knew exactly what a connecting rod was and that I was a jerk for assuming she didn't.
I guess what my ramble is getting at is that there are some females that do take an interest in other aspects of boating aside from the usual laying in the sun and doing nothing, but it's not most women, so I can understand why men don't put a lot of faith in them that way.
