Slightly off topic but if anyone is looking for one of these boats there's one been for sale on the charlotte craigslist all summer!

The boat chase in Sahara was pretty cool

Re: Boating Movies

gotta love the great outdoors - SUCK MY WAKE!!

OK, we get yer drift. Enough. I think FL OK for some, not me..flat as a pancake..summer humid puts most on there knees..afternoon downpours, etc.
I LIKE to wrench boat and bikes. I LIKE tinkering in my shop with the wood stove going, friends over telling lies and drinking beer.
I DON'T mind the gray, cool drizzly PNW winters, (summers are perfect here) the Puget Sound water that I'm looking up an inlet 5 miles right now out the window.
The 3 National Parks I can be at in 2 hours, 14000 foot mountains, the many miles of back road twisties on the bikes, hour to the Ocean (which we can drive on the beach..), inland lakes everywhere. Fish year round if ya want to....drag a snowmobile into the mountains for a day, many ski resorts..
Varity..the spice of life.:D

"Face Off" had a nice speedboat chase scene, and I think the Bond film "Moonraker" had that Gorgeous "cammie sounding" Hi-Perf. V8 Glastron Carlson, another more recent Bond film (Pirece Brosnan) had a pocket rocket sized V8 powered black stealth like speedboat on it, don't remember all the facts, or which one? but it had my interest.

Yes! That was it. I was trying to figure out which Bond film had Jaws in it, and at the end of the boat scene, Bond grabs the integral hanglider, and serenely soars into the jungles below, while Jaws has that "i am about to crap in my pants" look about him.

Good one.

Re: Boating Movies

call me sick and twisted...but i thought "The Perfect Storm" was a great boating movie! sure...the ending wasn't happy, but the power of the sea was captured pretty well. on the same token, i like watching those alaskan crab reality shows on discovery channel (Deadliest catch?).

I saw the sister ship to The Andrea Gail when I used to commute to Boston from the Hingham commuter boats. It was renamed back to her original name but we all new how significant that boat was...

Re: Boating Movies

Somebody else already mentioned it but the Hunton 43 in Sahara is one sweet boat.

Along with "Wind", which someone has already mentioned, I like "White Squall" with Jeff Bridges and "Message in a Bottle" with Kevin Costner. As much as I like power boating, my preference for sailing shows in these movie pics.

Your sense of humor is enlightening:rolleyes:

I guess the "conversation" is lost on you. I was trying to have a conversation with you, albeit in the form of friendly banter.

You're a real sweet guy.

My nose is everywhere? You...ummm...realize that this is a discussion board? Are there certain threads you would like me to stay out of? I was trying to engage you in chit chat.

I dont take kindly to people who tell me to "shut up." And calling me a "jerk". I have not once yet said anything derogatory to you. I wont retort with the same mannerisms.

I havent contributed? lol...Your contributions to the boards have been just so eloquent the last couple of days. You must be a member of the algonquin roundtable. ;)

Re: Boating Movies

I'm looking for movies filmed almost entirely on or near water or on a boat. Jaws comes to mind of course. Deliverance did not. :) There must be others.

Open Water II

I have to put another vote in for Captain Ron. "If we get lost we'll just pull in and ask for directions". :D
