Do a search and you'll find more details, but take it off, you probably don't need it.

Trim tabs are GOOD ....leave them on. The fin on the outboard IMO are not worth it but you can read and find that out.

The trim tabs are better.

Only my opinion?-- The engine fins help to get you up on plane faster with "less drag" than trim tabs, at slower speeds. Ounce on plane the trim tabs come into play to stablize boat. "I say leave them on.;) " Just read link! the skipping they were talking about "in choppy water turns" are directly related to trim tabs! If in a turn and the trim tab loses contact with water you tend to skip away from direction of turn. The engine fins "always" have contact with water and therefore, guides the boat into a smoother turn and helps keep the trim tab in contact with the water. My .02

tabs and foils are not to be used together. imho, foils are the worse thing you can put on a boat, other than a 14 ft tinny.

Get rid of the foil.

For whoever said something about tabs handling bad all I can say is ....um No.

Lose the foil.
