i don't know if any of you guys ride motorcycles, but I have a story for you:

I was driving my truck down in TN on I-81, and I was passed by 2 guys on harlies with MD tags.
Then in the next 2 miles there was a back up for an accident that had just happened. I mean it must have happened a mile in front of me.
I was only about a quarter mile back from the scene in the back up.
And i heard that 2 guys on motor cycles just killed themselves, and i was sure it was those 2 guys from MD.

But what really happened was a bike from WV crashed into the back of a car. They flew him out in a chopper, but he didn't make it.

Those 2 guys from MD just missed a bad accident by maybe 2 minutes.

For anyone that goes to Jelleyfish Joel's, my wife's band, Excalibur will be singing there on the beach on June 4th, July 2nd, July 24th, Aug 14th, and Sept 3rd. These are all day shows. I will be running sound for a few of these, and have my boat there for others.... not sure which. We will also be rocking the Harbor Shack on July 29th in the evening.

Now on to more important things... Hopefully I will get the boat in this Sunday... we will see. It is all buffed and waxed, new fuel sender in, lower oil changed. I still need to install the new radio in the dash, change the engine oil, and install a fuel filter/water separator, and I am sure I will find a few other minor things that need to be done...

How does it look down there for the weekend. I seen the Susquehanna up around Harrisburg looks more like a logging trail than a river. I'm sure there will be derbris in the water, probably look like the Hershey highway with all the mud. Well at least the sun will be shining eh?

Yeah I can't decide whether it's even worth driving down 20mins to see how bad Long Level is. I work in Harrisburg so I'm seeing the same logging operation you're seeing.

We're just gonna do it. We planned on going so I'm sticking to it. Sunday you can catch me anywhere between Elk Neck and Jellyfish Joel's. I waited all winter for this!

I crossed the Suskie in Harrisburg a couple hours ago, muddy!

I am spending a good portion of the day tomorrow getting my boat ready for hopefully a launch next weekend. I am slacking, to say the least, just been busy as hell!

Hi everyone,

I have asked you guys a couple of questions before since I do not make it down the Chesapeake very often, but hopefully that changes this season and next as I am looking into school principal jobs down in this area. My question is does anyone use and IPAD for Navigation Charts. I want to get a chart that explains where all of these places are that you guys talk about. I follow this thread all the time and I always here about fun places. We launch out of a campground by Carpenters Point. Any suggestions of places to go? We have gone to the flats before which was a great time. I have a 20ft bowrider if this helps at all. Thanks everyone.

I will hopefully be out Saturday and maybe part of the day Sunday at Welsh's (Walsh's?) point (Elk/CD split). Hopefully I will have the new VHF antenna up (current one only has about a 3 mile range). Just hail me...

I don't use the iPad specifically, but I do have the Navionics app for my Droid. Navionics is also available for the iPad and I would imagine it would be no different. I wish I had the app at the beginning of last summer since it was my first summer boating on the Chesapeake. Now I know the water well enough I don't need a chart on a regular basis, but the app does come in handy for places I haven't been or if I'm navigating at night.

If you ever do make it to the Chesapeake this summer let me know, I'm always looking for people to raft up with.

My boat is finally at the marina.. I dropped it off today.. We are going this Sunday rain or shine.. Tome's is having an open house, they will have free food and beverages.. So if it doesn't rain we'll probably just hang out and socialize at the marina.. If anyone is around you should stop by!

i have never had much luck with radios. both CB's and marine radios.
I would hardly ever hear anyone talking on the marine radio, and having a conversation was rare.

MY CB in my truck is even weirder. IF I switch off of channel 19 it seems to not work.
Some shippers monitor channel 4 or something, and I go to 4, and hear nothing. when they say there were calling me on the cb.
Radios just get on my nerves.

I've only been out on the water once so far this year, but it's been a hell of a boatin' spring.....three new (to us) boats among me and my buddies...two of them cost $250 each and mine was free. But you know they all needed work, some more than others. Lime4x4 got a 20ft Grady White for 250.00 and he's been bustin' butt to get it ready for fishing and crabbing on the Bay and my other buddy got a 16 foot aluminum walleye type boat for 250.00 that he's on the verge of divorce because of his dedication to getting it ready for fishing by the end of the month. I finally inherited my Bay boat from my childhood, a 16ft Alumacraft, 1959 Deep-C with a little ol' '81 Evinrude 9.9 tiller-steer on it that'll get as far up any Bay creek as you'd wanna go. Needs the transom reinforcing wood change out, but my battle has been getting paperwork to put it in my name and make it legal to tow and use. All that it now taken care of. I have stickers for the boat and a plate for the trailer.

My V-20 received a new livewell aspirator and a new 5.2 gph washdown pump as well as some added interior lighting and the camper canvas got some new zippers.

Now both my tow vehicles need some TLC and I have to help finish these other boats and then I'll be good to go.....lol

maybe instead of posting here you should be working on the tow vehicles...lol. The grady is basically done for the summer. It floats and runs. Still not sure if i'm keeping her yet...lol I'll c after a couple of crabbing trips

I finally inherited my Bay boat from my childhood, a 16ft Alumacraft, 1959 Deep-C with a little ol' '81 Evinrude 9.9 tiller-steer on it

I'm really curious what a Deep-C hull looks like. I guess it turns to one side better than the other.
