Re: boats on a budget
in the next couple of posts, I want to talk about what I'd like to do with the interior of the boat, now that the trailer is done (for the most part) and out of the way, and the outboard being done, it's time to work on the boat, it's going to be a slow boat rebuilding week for me due to work, but it will give me some time to think about how I want to do the interior and wood work.
so, first on the agenda is the wood work, everything is pretty much rotted out except the benches them selves, but I don't like those blue painted seats anyway, what I want to do is replace all the wood work, and have it done up in a rich natural wood grain as in the picture in this post. this is also going to include the transom, it's rotted out to.
so, what's going to be the best wood for me to use to have an outcome as in the picture? I'm thinking that plywood is out, I'm sure I can pick something up at home depot or someplace that will fit the bill nicely, but I'm not sure what kind of wood to get, so what are your suggestions?
