Well there it is...'Bandit' it shall be...we had whittled it down to Cooper or Bandit, and with Bandit choosing bandit{what are the odds }...well, we couldn't ask for a better sign. Goes well with the lil bugger getting up on a chair to steal the cat's food/bowl today LOL.

Thanks again so much folks, it's been a lot of fun!!!

Kenny great choice! Are you going to get the dog chipped? I have my Labs chipped.

Joe, for Joe Cocker.lol

DOG, that is pronounced Dee OO Gee.

The Vet will insert a micro chip beneath the coat on the back of the neck. It is about the size of a pive of small rice.

It is read by a chip reader and it has a registration number. I think I paid $35 to have it registered. 99% of the shelters and Vets have the reader and it will help track down the owner in the event the dog (Bandit ;) ) should every get lost.

Here is a random web site I found to help explain ;) http://www.microchipidsystems.com/

Thanks again Bob, yes we'll be doing that, our other mutt{lol} is tattooed, twice infact, once inside the ear and the other on his belly, though the belly one is just an '05 tat, which we believe is when the adoption center we got him from, had him 'fixed'. Thanks for the link...very informative.

PS: if this continues to draw name suggestions please don't hesitate to lock it...we appreciate very much everyones help and comments, but no need to further waste bandwidth or such.

Again to everyone who offered anything...Thankyou........Kenny, JoAnn, & Bandit :D

Had a dog that looked very similar to your new pooch. During the evacuation of Rita back in 2005 from Houston going through Columbus, TX we lost our dog. His name was Bailey and my wife and I believe that would be a very nice choice.

Good luck
