Is there something you can buy to put to block wind from coming in through the bow walkthrough where the windows split? I have looked but don't know what it would be called so i'm sure i'm not looking in the right places.
A bow cover will block the wind from whipping thru the helm nicely.
Made from canvas and snapped on, they snap under the windshield and basically convert the boat into a covered-bow which is nice if you are getting waves splashing over the bow at all.
Of course if you don't want to spend the cash...you can put a large cooler between the consoles and then fit a pfd cushion in place to block the wind. I got a quote of $200 for a bow cover so I may opt to use the cooler for a bit
yeah i had thought about the bow cover, but that is kind of expensive and i don't know that i want to add buttons all over the boat. i'm debating about making something that attaches to the windshield and goes between the walkthough sort of like you were saying the cooler would do. i'm just not sure exactly how to attach it.
You need a door that swings across and closes the opening, if you look at some bowrider boats, the ones that have a cooler in the walkthru area on the helm side the door for that area does exactly what you want.

that's a pretty good idea and i have thought of doing something similar, but how would i attach buttons to the bottom of the window? plus i'm not sure i want buttons on the bottom. maybe i could figure out some way to make it tie off. like i said it's only temporary, but i'd still like it to be something of decent quality that i can reuse.

You would have to do one of two things, either mount it on a hinge so it could swing open and lock there, then close and lock there, or make some slide guides so you could slide it in place when you needed it and take it out when not needed.
yeah i think that sounds more permanent than i want. i may just do the curtain idea for simplicity sake, or i suppose i could just not use the boat while it's cold, lol.
To attache a small curtain all you would have to do is drill small screw holes in the bottom part of the windshield and then install snaps. a couple of snaps on both sides as well would do the trick. I have a complete bow cover but it does snap to the bottom ot the windshield hatch.
Perfect solution, my old boat was a 1983 and came from the factory with one. It was made from two pieces of matching vinyl sewn back to back. There were three snaps screwed to the inside bottom of the windshield frame and a few more down the front side of each console (didn't attach to the floor). Worked great, took about 1 minute to put up, looked nice and took up no room in the boat when stowed.
My current boat has a few spots in the upholstery I'm going to get a shop to repair. When they do, I'm going to have them make me one just like the old boat had!
I have the snap on bow cover, and its a life saver. might think about adding one to your boat as well. It makes a trip back to the dock in a storm so much more bearable now. The kids can even sit under it so they stay dry when tis cool out. then again, we get caught in last minute storms alot out here. I also like the walk thru snap on vinyl piece, i might add one as i have left over vinyl here anyways.

Cut to size, (18"x32" for my boat) 2 inches wider than the opening.
I slide it in place on front of the opening.
It leaves only a 1/4 inch gap where it meets the windscreen.
Mine wedges in snugly, but you may need to install a small channel or bracket to keep it in place on your boat.
Stores neatly on the side of my seat when not in use.

I've had the bow cover, and the little cover from the window to the floor. The bow cover makes the boat more steamline, and if a wave comes over the bow (lake erie in december) most of it washes overboard.
The filler 'flap' made from vinyl sounds like an easy solution.
I would also shy away from drilling for snaps, and would probably use velcro where it attaches to the windshield frame. You can buy the velcro in long rolls, and replace the half on the metal easily.

here you go, please over look the dirty carpet but there is three snaps on each side of the consols and velcrow on the bottom of the fold over window, the curtain is just made out of vinyl to match the rest, then when not in use it folds up in the side pocket.
it really dose not need to be fastened on the bottom.
