Hi, all. This is my first time on this forum. I have a lovable old tri-hull bowrider right now, but I'm shopping for a newer deep vee cuddy. The reason for the change is having two babies in a year and a half. The First Mate would like a smoother ride in chop and the kiddies could (hopefully) use a potti and place to nap.
Speaking of which. . . If anybody has an I/O cuddy around the Chattanooga, TN area they'd like to sell for under 10 k, drop me a line! My tow vehicle is a Subaru Forester so I can't go too heavy.
So for me the equation is:
Young kids = cuddy
Grownups = bowrider
Def a bow rider. Kids will be fine....you want to water ski? forget a cuddy for that.

A mid-to late-1980s, 16"-17" Bayliner cuddy with an outboard would be doable as long as you don't take a lot of extras with you. But finding a decent one (without rot, etc.) might be a problem.Hi, Cap'n- welcome to iboats. Please start your own thread if you want some advice.
Just for the record, I can't think of ANY cuddy cabin boat that could be safely towed by a Forrester. The 2009 model has a towing capqacity of 2400 lbs. That's the total for the boat, trailer and any "stuff" you put in it. Ain't happenin'.
I love my cuddy, you can store all the life jackets down there and all the other stuff and its all out of your way. Plus if i dont want to go home i can sleep on the boat.![]()
