I have a 1997 Mariah z255 shabah with a bravo 3. I noticed I started going through gear oil but no water was entering the drive, last time I have the boat out the gear oil got in the bilge. In doing some research I was just wondering about the input shaft removal, I cant seem to find out if it is necessary to remove the covers off the drive and the shifting mechanism before I remove the input shaft, or can I just simply remove the yoke assembly without taking apart anything else on the drive?
