I am most likely wrong (just ask my wife) buttttttt
Everything mentioned will work just depends on what you are trying to achieve.
Example
1. I would not wet sand my 60k Chap myself but if the gel was so bad that compound would not work I would hire a pro to do it
2. I would not buff polish and wax or poli a 1200.00 hull its just not worth it to me (but it would work).
3. But I might do a quick fix ( vasiline ) to a 1200.00 hull
My point is that maybe everyone needs to qualify there boat and condition of the hull and what they are trying to achieve before they make any suggestions
Every suggestion I have read above has merit and will work (for there situation)
If you wish to chastise me for my comments you must get in line My wife has first call on that
