Re: Buehler Project
Thank you all for your kind accolades. Wife seems to think working on this project keeps me out of trouble He, He, He. It sure does honey. When I brought this puppy home everyone wondered " Shull!? What are you thinking?? I knew what I saw under all that mold, Dirt, Old Stringers and Faded Paint. You are right Bob did an excellent job and I have tried for years to talk him into some business in wood working, He has a business already and only does this as a hobby. Every time I hit a milestone it excites me to get to the next one. I really wanted to splash it this fall but Perry from Big Bee Boats tells me I need a raw water pick up pump or I stand the real chance of overheating and cracking my heads. So the search was on and thanks to eBay I found one $80.00 but I had to make brackets and mounts. I guess I should have it rebuilt this winter. It looks like a spring splash it appears. I have plenty to do to get ready for winter anyway. The wooden wheel Dale is gone, It was so salt welded on I had to cut it off to get the helm apart to replace it. But if your up for a challenge to replicate it hit me up I'd be willing to talk to you. thanks or the tip Captain I'll check it out. though I having trouble finding it there is or was a plate under the helm station above the foot rest that read " Cutty Stark" If that helps anybody to help find the year and style or some paper work. Again thanks for all your help it's good people like you all that helps keep this project going. I'll keep you updated as I go along.
