Re: Calling All Minnesotans!!

yep, be glad ya got the water. be carefull what ya say though. eastern nebraska has had 7 years of drought. darn near couldn't go boatin. this year we're gettin it back by a little. water tables are comeing back. resivouirs are full. i'm happy. western nebr. is still high and dry. main lake out there is about 25% of full. they're really hurting..this weather that we got goin on lately is quite strange.
belletaine lake, up by nevis, has been floodin low lieing houses the last few years. this year it went down a lot. our neighbor, when he was alive, used to tell storys of the wheat fields in front of his house in early 1900s. thats where i fish at now and i've only known it to be a lake, not a wheat field...... so things can change........glad ya got the water.....

Re: Calling All Minnesotans!!

Last survey said more like 15000 lakes. Funny we had the worst drought since 1988 and now I need to find a cubit conversion to feet to finish this boat project due to all the rain. I just hope we have a super cold winter so the hard water season lasts long. Sure would be nice to be fishing in December.

Yeah the drought sucks except now I live in Duluth and it hasn't stopped raining for a month! But still, the big lake is a couple trillion gallons low:eek:

Well, I'm not a Minnesotan but I did spend 2 years in college there. I also have some family that lives there. It's beautiful up there. Minnesota has some great Musky fishing! I hope to make a trip or two to Mille Lacs or Leech next year.

Here are two resons to why the great lakes are at an all time low, this information is not new. We are about 8' low from the high water mark on eastern Georgian Bay set on 1988 levels.

Not sure if that is from the movie Fargo but I will tell you. We sure got a bad rap for that movie and the funny thing is that Fargo is in North Dakota. Not Minnesota.

Gonfishn. I am hitting lake of the woods this winter to do some Walleye fishing. If you are around maybe we can hook up. Dont forget you cant cast that lumber into the Ice so I can leave the hard hat and kevlar at home.

don't know what you mean by "bad rap" unless you're talking about them having the actors talk like Minnesotans, yah?

As far as muskie fishing, we got Minnesota muskie fishermen making expeditions to Iowa because the muskie fishing is better.

Re: Calling All Minnesotans!!

Yah, eh?! Uffda! Not really. Most of us don't really talk like that, there are a few exceptions, but for the most part just the occasional eh or uffda.
Anyway where are the rest of the Minnesotans?
I don't really care about cheeseheads or Iowegians, or yoopers (they are the worst when it come to accents btw)
Speaking of yoopers anybody know "The Second Week Of Deer Camp" or "Da Turdy Point Buck"? Those are great tunes, they really get me in the mood for deer season.

Song goes something like its the second week of deer camp and all the guys are here. We drink some beer, we shoot the bull but we never shoot no deer.

Interesting part about the Minnesota accent is we are sought after. Most anchor people come from the Midwest. I noticed when I was in Tennessee that the anchor people did not sound like Jeff Foxworthy like all the people down there did. They spoke like true Minnesotans.

It's true Euro they train voices here in the midwest. Because our "accent" is the most easily understood by the whole nation!!:D

Reporting from Burnsville here. The great thing about the cold weather is it keeps all the riff raff out.
