I've got an '86 Evinrude 140. One of my carbs has a crack in it (where the bolt goes through to the throttle body). Overtightened it I guess (oops!). Additionally all the tubes from the float bowls to the main body seem to be disintigrating. I've read in other posts this isn't uncommon and that getting replacement tubes is next to impossible.

That being said, I've tracked down a decent set of carbs from an '89 Johnson 140. The part numbers are different than from my '86, but I'm wondering if they would fit/work on my motor. Does anyone know what changed from '86 to '89 and whether or not these changes would significantly affect performance? Would the carb bodies from the '89 even fit on my '86 throttle body?

As always, thanks for the input.

Cheers,

Brew
