can i swap cd boxes

ok so the 85hp is a 3 cyl, with 2 cd boxes, each one of them with connections for 2 cyl, since the motor is a 3 cyl one feeder is not being used, and my cd box that feeds 2 cyl one half is not working properly, so can i swap it with the one that is only using one side?

If you have Prestolite Igniton (blue modules and coils) you can swap them.
Your manual should give instructions on how to wire the CD modules!

Say #1 cylinder is firing and #2 cylinder isn't, move that module and wiring to #3 module position useing the working side of the module for #3 leaveing the (nonworking) side as though it were to hook to #4 as the spare and move the module from #3 to the #1-2 positon now #1-#2 should fire as well as #3.
You'll need to move the wiring that goes with each module so take pictures and keep your manual handy so things get wired back correctly!
