had this figured just about right....

http://

sump box was made lower in corner where my transducer is mounted. Glassed to the hull through small cutout in box. Two layers 24oz and had it looking real pretty. Then!! the bottom fell out of my can dumping resin; put another layer of 1.5 in instead of mopping it up.

doesn't look like much because it isn't!! lol
http://

first I glassed the old bottom back together and glassed 2" strips to the sides. Then full sized pieces of csm/24/csm/24/csm - probably used at least 1.5 gallons of resin. OMG!! the fumes! lol what happened to my respirator?? No can find...
Anyway... the PVC at the top gets glassed over and the plastic on the left is plugging the livewell drain. PVC is routed that way to get around a vertical rib for the gunwale.

Why does resin look dirty sometimes when working with woven? And then I have a few spots that look as if there's air or not wet? And I KNOW that it is... What's up with that stuff?

when you sweat on the glass before it gets coated with resin it will leave white splotches .. I had a heck of a time with that the last big layup I did ,,, Some resin gets darker than others I have seen .. usually after it has had the hardener mixed in ..
Looks like it should hold a fish or two !

uhhhhhhhhhh, what's a fish?
at 96*, what sweat? it evaporated!!
But that makes sense and the evidence supports it; I stood outside the boat laying across the port side and leaning in towards bottom of picture. My hands sweat real bad in those long black gloves - they drain some when I extend my arm; livewell is 33" long, so those spots are all back where the cuff ends.

Glad I used a 4" brush on it..... time saver!! After the disaster with my coffee can lol - have used several and just beat out hardened resin, that's how it came apart - am using a 5lb Country Crock margarine container now. Works great, hardened resin peels out effortlessly for reuse :D
holds plenty of resin, doesn't tip easily, and a wide mouth for plenty of room to fish out PB

now that a legal matter is out of my hands, maybe I can getRdone in short order? We'll see....... and if the heat doesn't kill me lol
nuttin fancy here; took a few to keep resin from leaking through...... Can't say enough for that $10 roll of masking tape  That and plastic in the drain - on left - has to be dug out. Thickness of black duct tape makes it easier

put the plumbing back in, sand/paint, put the lids on and that'll be done

am using an old 1.5" PVC down to heavy wall hose which together hold the bilge pump in place. Darkened the picture some because there's still a lot of sunlight glare even in the shade!!

the funny looking piece on the right is my fuel tank kicker; and haven't finished it yet. When the tank gets low, I'll lift the tank slightly by the vent and slide it under. Pushing the arm down raises starboard side 4".

I know a lot of people that just fill their tank. I prefer fresh fuel - and usually know how much I'll use on any given trip. The only time I fill that tank is if I plan to be out overnight. Also have an extra 6gal tank that'll fit back there, too. And I have enough trolling motor to make it back from most places lol. Let's not forget the paddle

edit---- made a saddle for hose out of split PVC; that's 1 1/8" id hose, just over 1.5" od - very stiff!!!

might as well post while I'm cooling off. Tried to change my avatar, but it hasn't ??
still messing with it a little, but it's mostly done

kicker comes out completely; I want the tank on the floor otherwise. May not do much, but when you've got an inch of gas and can't get to it..... there'll come a time when I'm glad I did that
Was really surprised at how solid that bracket is. Kicker handle misses the bracket and is over the sump box - can get fingers underneath to pull it back out. Makes me wonder who engineered this job?

http://

and she was a friend.... lol IS!! recently widowed, I don't mind a donation. Plus, I have four more of these tires unmounted and doing nothing. 14's off my truck that I keep good rubber on.
Both trailer tires had slooooow leak from damaged bead; not visible from outside, but bubbled slowly w/soapy water

break out the electric blanket!!! Got down to 80* last night  early winter? lol
Really should proofread some more... As soon as I said that, wrote "circumstance" and should be circumstances!
And it doesn't "sound" like it, but didn't forget that SPhelps suggested I come off the seat support to hold the pump down. It's amazing how one suggestion can make all the difference, thanks

Moral of the story..... no matter how good or bad you think you are, post it on iboats and get some help.

OK, so I have 3/32 ss screws every 6". Two layers of 1.5 with the outer layer torn to feather in. They're stuffed under 1/2" or so and will at least add one more 1.5 over that, maybe two? I don't think it calls for 24oz, but have been wrong before lol.
Sun was in my eyes and had to use flash - those are the spots in pic
http://

in looking at it now, am thinking 24, but but but

thanks Woody, my buddy was just over and he says the same. Am thinking the first go round, I had little knowledge or practice with glass - plus I now have little confidence in Elmer's or Bondo fg. I think it's mostly their catalyst that causes me to feel that way, but what do I know?

Initially had only one screw every foot or so, about midway of 6" to hold the wood in place - which caused a pivot point. Completely glassed inside, but apparently not tied in so well outside - which caused the delam.

NOTE---- when and if screws are used; tighten them down and let 'em sit a few days. Then go back and retighten before you glass over them. You can easily get another half turn on 'em. Resin on the threads afterwards keeps the nuts on - like duh huh lol

just when ya thought it was safe to take a bath....

https://youtu.be/iKcoS1m3b2Y

between the heat/humidity and the rain, short order is being stretched.... Making progress, but !@#%^&*** Guess it's good exercise rolling the boat and everything in and out the garage several times a day

good luck ham... HA!! Conway's a nut!
Typical of every day, and it's only been raining for ten minutes. Accuweather says another 50 minutes to go.... I think they should change their name to "Flippa Coinweather" lol
They said no precipitation for the next 120 minutes; had I not being paying attention to the sky....... errrrrrrrrrrrr This is most every day around these parts and why I have a 1200gph pump and why I sealed the deck
http://

just not enough room in the garage to do it all
PS: you can set your watch by the afternoon storm!! from June through September! lol

You need to come up with a water cure resin.

Maybe a speckle finish could be a new fad. A golf ball glides well with dimples, how about a boat?

You're still making progress. Probably faster than me.

Was down for a while with computer problems. Temporary fix.

I feel you, yesterday I was laying up glass on the cabin roof of boat and out of nowhere I hear thud thud thud I realized the one lone cloud was starting to drop so I threw a tarp over the work and picked up tools whole time hoping tarp didn't catch fire from heat of glasswork and the Florida sun then it rained for ten minutes and the sun was out then bam back in business... hello humidity!
