I don't know, I have fished this state from Pensacola to Key West and have never crossed paths with that thing. Other than that extended anal fin, it could be a type of sea bass...I'll show the pic to some friends and see if anyone is more the wiser..
I've been fishing saltwater for over 50 years and have never seen anything like that. Couldn't find it Dr Bob Shipp's saltwater fish ID book either. Could they be escaped tropical aquarium fish?
