Re: Can't fix this Johnny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Word from home came today and it was all bad. My (used to be) best friend used my 1977, 15 HP Johnson to do some striper fishing yesterday and lost the engine overboard. He said it just jumped off the transom into the drink. He said that he looked up it's value on NADA, and found that it was only worth $65. I told him that I'd like to see him by a 1977, 15 HP for $65, $165, $265, or $365. That engine ran like the wind and always started on the second pull. It served me well for over 30 years.

Bought a good shape 79 15 hp last year for $550. $65 my rear end..

I had that happen to me years ago.....I borrowed a 15hp and didn't put it on tight enough. Off it went. My friend still has the 25hp replacement..... the return in friendship and help from him was far more than the $1,000 I paid for my mistake.
