I plan on using boat stands when I get around to painting mine. Seems the way it's done in most yards, and 3 will support it just fine while you reposition them 1 at a time to get the areas that were covered.

I guess really I don’t need to roll it if I want to work on my back. Just support the 2 corners at the back and one on the keel near the front. Just like storing a boat. Then move the stands and touch up those spots. Guess I think too hard sometimes. Actually my cradle it is on right now might work pretty good as well. I will look at it this weekend while I’m trying to finish the bow seating :)

A good cradle is probably better than the stands. I still haven't ruled out making one for mine, but have means to pick up some old-school stands pretty cheaply locally.

I have mine right under the keel. If you look back how I made them. It actually is really nice balanced. I made in the V style so there is some support. I made the beams a little longer and cut 2x4s that go right under the outer chines to give more support during my remodeling. otherwise I would not need them.

Thanks guys.. I think the cradle I made will actually work pretty good. I can get most of the underside done and then put it back on the trailer and finish up. It doesn't have to be "Perfect" under there as it won't be seen very much. ;) I will use my creeper to slide around under there as well since I am on a nice flat smooth concrete floor. Again many thanks :)

So a question for you custom seat guys..... I plan to put a sundeck on the back of the boat instead of the original dog house. As well as a full bench seat. As most of you know I have never done this before :( Could I get some tips, links and/or advise as to what I should be using for plywood thickness? I figured 1/2 ACX would be fine for most of the bench seat design. What is best to use to attach around the inwale (did I use the right word?)? I did a couple of searches but didn't come up with much. I would love to do some reading before I jump in. Also I believe this should be the next step in interior building correct? My bow seating is almost done. Then I was going to do the rear sundeck and bench seat then fill in my side panels. Then after that, install my center console. Correct? Thanks again all.

My brothers boat the baja. Has seating like you want factory. He had to remake it the old one was bad. It was half inch with a little bracing in there. Then glassed over and gel coated.

Mine back upright wall is 1/2 with 1 by bracing along top and bottom, seat storage boxes are 1/2. The actual seats and sun deck are 3/4. I wanted the strength there cuz you may 2 or 3 people there at any time.

EVA is nice Scott. Trying to find a local supplier for it at a decent price. I would imagine shipping would be crazy ordering from the states.

Hey everyone. Sorry for such a long delay posting anything. Been crazy busy at work. Not much time at all to work on the boat. Mostly little tasks here and there. I hope to get more time in the next week or so. Sad thing is I don’t know if I can make it for an end of June splash. :(. Still gonna try but not cutting corners. July or August is fine as well.

I did did score a 15-91 machine this weekend though. Gonna take you up on advice for sewing WOG. The seller was very helpful though, showed me all the piling points, threading, setup and how to sew vinyl etc. Gonna watch some YouTube videos and try it out soon.

As as for the boat, I have the bow seating almost done and will be filling foam up front this week and fastening the top down. Then I plan to start work on the sun deck and back bench seat. Console is still staring at me. Haven’t touched it in a while. I found a nice pontoon console a couple weeks ago and picked it up for 50 bux! Pretty sweet deal but too wide. I can either chop it up and use some of it for my console or copy some of the stuff and the. Re sell it. All and all and good find.

Ta Ta for now.

Woodonglass could I get some advice? Looking around for thread and needles for the 15-91 I picked up. No idea what I am looking for? Any tips? Just building a table
for it now. Once that is done I will post some pics and serial number. I have some scrap vinyl I want to try out to see if I can sew.

Thanks
