I am in need to purchase a carb rebuild kit for my '65 33 hp 'Rude. Where is the best place to purchase one? I found the list of them here on iboats, but I am unable to determine if any of the kits are made for my motor. In the OMC #s that the kit replaces I don't see any numbers that match any of the OMC #s from the original parts catalog for the carb assembly. Are the OMC numbers with the carb kits cooresponding to an OMC carb kit # or should it coorelate to an OMC number from the carb assembly? If it is an OMC carb kit # then how can I get the carb # that goes to my motor, it isn't listed in the parts catalog manual?

Also what all is contained in a rebuild kit? Or what should I be replacing when I redo a carb? Below is what I think I should be replacing with this rebuild:
- new plastic float
- gaskets (carb to manifold, body to chamber and valve seat)
- Valve seat
- core plug & misc plugs (fuel passage, etc).
But I don't know if the kit should come with new vavle packing nuts & washers, new valve needles, etc.

Anyone who could provide a comprehensive list of what I should find in a rebuild kit and where I can find the right rebuild kit, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Patrick

Latest P/N for your carb kit is 439074. 18- numbered aftermarket kits don't have the float but like tashasdaddy says Laing's sells it seperate.
All include everything listed and include packing but not the brass nuts themselves. Float needle is included too. The rubber tipped ones have a little spring you use to lash it to the float so the float pulls it out of the seat if it gets stuck.

Re: Carb Rebuild Kit

I got the manual to do the link and sink. Also, I have read over joe's carb settings several times and have that. Although quick question on that....when it says to "gently" seat the high and low needles I take it that means gently seat them screwed all the way in? Sorry never worked on a carb before.

Thanks,
Patrick
