Mrs. Tyme had a slip and fall in our home this recent Thursday and the result is that she suffered a cracked kneecap.

She has been advised by the doctor to keep her leg straight and is wearing a brace. Follow up is in two weeks to see if the crack has widened or is stable.

I have therefore been thrust into the roll she occupied, namely; Cooking, cleaning, laundry, morning dog walking, dish washing, etc. It's now that I realize what an effort she has been exerting all these years. I'm worn out and it's only been 5 days of me assuming these chores. My limited cooking skills are being put to the test. So far, nothing fancy. Bacon and eggs for breakfast. Burgers and fries (home cooked) for dinner. I did cook spaghetti one night. Fish (which I'm great cooking) and rice. Hey,she can stand on one leg and cook!! What's her problem. I'll fetch the ingredients so she doesn't have to hop on one leg.

Saturday morning I assisted her (I did it) in putting on her left sock. Remember that she's not supposed to bend her leg. OK,I got that done. Then she asked me to put her under-wear on. Folks, I've had years of experience in taking those things off, but I think this was the first time ever that I actually put them back on!!

I'm not sure who is missing the healthy wife worse, me or the dog. She would take our son's beagle out every morning and run with him. I don't exactly run with him but we do perform a rapid pace with me holding the 25 foot leash. Once that hound hits a rabbit trail all heck breaks lose with him on the trail. Sorry to side-track the story but both beagle and Tyme hope the wife gets well soon.

Sorry about the wife's injury, hope she heals properly, but I had to laugh at the underwear part.

Speedy recovery to Mrs Tyme, and to T2F, remember when she gets back on her feet ... she needs to make up for all this pampering you did! (Maybe you better tell her that now while she can't run! :p)

Maybe you are making up for years of pampering, T2F. Getting suddenly single can come pretty close.

It's funny how lopsided the world seems when the Admiral is in dry dock!

Best wishes on a speedy recovery to Mrs. Tyme, and a return to normal for you and the beagle.

Your doing a fine job as I see it. Make a beef roast one day flour roast brown lightly in little oil on stove, cut up potatoes and carrots onion, add about 3/4 way up on roast if a flat type roast, place in a 225 oven let cook all day. Start about 8 am eat about 6. For making gravy disolve flour or corn startch in COLD water bring juice from roast on stove till boils.

To make veggy soup take a small peice of beef boil for awhle in water, cut up meat then return to water, add a bag or two of mixed veggies bag of braccoli culiflower mix, add can of tomato soup let cook for whilt then add a couple of cut up potatoes.
Buy a bag of frpzen dinner rolls to make either dinner nicer they will take about 5 hours to rise and bake

I do all my cooking from easy chair as my wife says she quit cooking because she says I am better at it.

JB, that is most definitely what's happened. She has always done the cooking and dish washing, etc. I've pitched in when it's a manly steak on the grill or when I fry up fish. It's a learning curve for me. I stuck to the basics this morning for breakfast, sausage patties and pancakes. So far, I haven't killed us but I need to plan on fixing some well balanced nutritional evening meals. One great note: a local pizza place that has great pizzas has finally started to once again deliver to our rural address. I haven't used them since Mrs Tyme was injured but it might be a great excuse for Thursday night football. I even got a coupon from them for a free garden salad, breadstixs, and a 2 liter cola if I order a large pizza!!!

I'm still laughing about the underwear. Anyway, do you have a crock pot/slow cooker. You can make some fantastic meals in them with little to no effort.

With my sick-off beat sense of humor that reminds me of an old joke.

I bought the wife a crock pot slow cooker so she could cook slow. I then bought her a microwave so she could cook fast. Now if I could only get her in the kitchen to slow/fast cook anything!!:D

Some of my old jokes are coming back to haunt me.

Why does the bride traditionally wear white? The dishwasher should match the stove and fridge.
Why are women's feet shorter than men's? So they can stand closer to the sink.

Tyme my wife is having knee surgery in 4 weeks so I feel for you, but I told her if she was a horse she would have been put down months ago.

LOL: I have a dead pine tree that recently fell and I went to start the chain saw to cut it up. It had been years since I fired the saw up,but after many pulls and a little rest, she finally fired up. Mrs. Tyme was afraid I was going to cut off her leg!!
