Mrs. Tyme had a slip and fall in our home this recent Thursday and the result is that she suffered a cracked kneecap.
She has been advised by the doctor to keep her leg straight and is wearing a brace. Follow up is in two weeks to see if the crack has widened or is stable.
I have therefore been thrust into the roll she occupied, namely; Cooking, cleaning, laundry, morning dog walking, dish washing, etc. It's now that I realize what an effort she has been exerting all these years. I'm worn out and it's only been 5 days of me assuming these chores. My limited cooking skills are being put to the test. So far, nothing fancy. Bacon and eggs for breakfast. Burgers and fries (home cooked) for dinner. I did cook spaghetti one night. Fish (which I'm great cooking) and rice. Hey,she can stand on one leg and cook!! What's her problem. I'll fetch the ingredients so she doesn't have to hop on one leg.
Saturday morning I assisted her (I did it) in putting on her left sock. Remember that she's not supposed to bend her leg. OK,I got that done. Then she asked me to put her under-wear on. Folks, I've had years of experience in taking those things off, but I think this was the first time ever that I actually put them back on!!
I'm not sure who is missing the healthy wife worse, me or the dog. She would take our son's beagle out every morning and run with him. I don't exactly run with him but we do perform a rapid pace with me holding the 25 foot leash. Once that hound hits a rabbit trail all heck breaks lose with him on the trail. Sorry to side-track the story but both beagle and Tyme hope the wife gets well soon.
