gmarktho ~~ wish you luck today. There MAY be a CS presence but unlikely anyone from corp, just dealers. They are pushing new models and bigger boats so you may get lucky. They (and Alweld) gave alligator hunters new CSs this year. CS should have hired a designer that knew about boats and not only skiffs for new products.

Interesting that Carolina Skiff did not have a Funchaser on display during the AC Boat Show. They did have a Seachaser (deck version not a pontoon). Was able to talk to Carolina Skiff representative (same one as last year) sharing my frustration and that my boat was at his facility in Georgia. He also recommended the boat I purchased at last years show which was displayed with a 90hp. It was interesting that the guy (Dean, who worked for Jarvis Marine in Tuckerton, NJ) who sold me the boat and no longer at the dealership (and took the Carolina Skiff franchise with him) somewhat listened but did not seem at all sympathetic or interested. The rep said that he would take back my concerns and disappointment to Carolina Skiff when he returns from the boat show. I have no idea where this is going to go but they know that I am not a "happy camper." PLUS he shared that "Carolina Skiff is now in the process of redesigning the Funchaser because of the problems with this design." PLUS PLUS I was told that there were other unhappy Funchaser owners also complaining at the show.............................................. .................................................. ....

They know they have a terrible designed POS and are not trying to make buyers happy, they are hoping they can put lipstick on a pig and make the problem go away.

CS introduced 2 new boat lines yesterday.

Unfortunately not boats the OP would want for his type of boating, but none the less, interesting addition to the CS line.

Hopefully, these are designed for use and not to show as OPs boat is.

Sad, but they will rig something that may or may not work. The rep of that design is already trash. To sell one an owner will have to find someone that does zero research and then just about give it a way. Never going to be much fun on that deck.

There is no way that I will be taking this boat back. Based upon the recent discussion with the Carolina Skiff rep at the C Boat Show they know they have a problem with this design and are working to redesign as we speak. I learned a BIG lesson on this.......do not buy a boat on impulse and recommendation of manufacturers/dealers working a boat show.............................................................................

Those are good lessons but another is "don't buy a boat in its first model year."

My dad did and we found a couple design issues.

Same goes for cars, but cars--since there is a much bigger investment and market--are tested more thoroughly.

Likely controlled by CS in some way. Many brand specific forums have something similar to this in their header.

I never learned not to buy a boat on impulse ~~ all were new though and never on anyone's rec but my own. Not your fault~ a person would believe a company as big as CS would not put a junk design on the water.

Of course CS is trying to curtail their loss on a bad design. This NEW design could caution others on other new designs. You are much more patient than I. By now I would have given a date as to be informed as to how they intended to make me VERY happy before boating season. They control the owners website but there are others. They would know if I was not made a happy boater I would notify the USCG of an unsafe boat being sold and would start a list of sites like thehulltruth.com, fryingpantower.com, southcarolinaoffshore.com, NCangler.com, google, Yahoo, and 100s of others where information comments would be posted. Nothing derogatory, no embellishment ~ just state the facts. Basically, I want to be kept in the loop or must believe they plan on not making me happy. All that after my lawyer contacted them.
