Does anyone here know of anywhere on the web where you might be able to view or down load manuals for a Caterpillar D5-96J dozer??

Hydraulic converter. I'm afraid mine may be going out. I can only run the machine for an hour and a half before it starts to over heat. I've change filters and cleaned the cooler and its still over heating.

Re: Caterpillar Manuals

Our company runs a large mixed fleet of plant and I wonder if you have checked the T/c charge pump for pressure?
Its also possible that the shaft seal on the pump may be sucking a little air. Check all the hoses and joints on the suction side of the pump to ensure that all are tight and remove the screen from the bottom of the transmission and make sure it is clean. Even a build up of varnish on the screen can lead to a rise in temp on some CAT models.

Good luck,

Peter

Re: Caterpillar Manuals

I'm wrong when I say hydraulic converter I should have said transmission converter. The tractor will push anything I want to push but after about an hour and a half or so the transmission converter starts to heat up.

Thanks Peterf, i'll check that this weekend.

Call your local CAT dealer for the manual. They love to sell them.
