cdi unit from 1979 65hp suzuki, die or not to die

hello, i've sorted out my ignition switch problem but now can't get a pulse from the cdi unit to the coil, i've got a pulse going in but nothing out so i'm gussing its shot??? or is there something i've missed?? is there another way to get around this or do i need to buy a new unit? i'm asking because a new one is $559 and can't afford that, i was hoping not to have to dump this engine as its not been used much, just been stuck in a shed most of its life
any help would be greatfull

Disconnect the Kill wire going into CDI to make sure your key switch ,kill switch, and wiring is not the problem before buying CDI.

Did you use the proper test equipment and did the inputs meet spec in the manual?

kill switch????? all i've done is put a new key unit on using just a per live, ignition live and a starter live,
were is the kill switch? the only wires i have are batt +, elec choke, ignition +, (that goes to the cdi unit) and what seems to be an earth, please help me, i'm missing the obvious here somewhere?

A service manual is you best friend see if you can find one for your motor.
