After honing a cylinder block the Evinrude service manual tells you to chamfer the cylinder block with a ball or other suitable hone. Can I use a ball hone and run it from the outside in, spin a little and call it good? How much is enough?
Get a ball hone the same size as the cylinder and run it up and down in the cylinder a few times and you should be okay. That's what the manual meant. Clean the cylinder up good after the honing.
If you just honed the block I doubt you will have any sharp edges, boring is a different matter. Also hope you used a good hone and not one of the spring type.
