This fall I bought an '88 Skeeter SK2000 bass boat with an '89 Yamaha 2 cycle 225 hp Excel G V-6 motor. The boat has a 24 volt trolling motor system with 2 12V batteries in parallel, with a dedicated charging system.
The boat/start battery system is set up with 2 6V batteries in series. The boat sat for over a year before I bought it, batteries were sulfated, I replaced with two of the same series 6V batteries.
I haven't had the boat on the water yet and won't until next spring. It appears the boat was made for dual batteries on the start side, but my question is will the Yamaha charging system charge 2 6V batteries while running or did I waste my money, should have bought 12v's?
Thanks, Larry
