Re: Coating for my deck

I'm sure when he says V-mod he saying its a VE gel coat, that's not something you want to use for anything that's going to be exposed to UV rays, it will turn yellow and chalk much sooner than a standard gel coat. In this case a cheaper product will do a much better job.

Ondarvr- Inside a 24hr period what do I need to do to prep the Gel coat for a second coat? The first coat had wax in it unfortunately. Thanks

If it cured and became tack free, then the entire surface needs to be cleaned and sanded, even the low spots in the textured surface. No wax and you would have been good to go with the next coat.

ok, what grit shoud I use or does it matter as long as I dull the surface? I think I have some 220 down to 60. The styrene should help it reactivate the surface, correct?

I was talking with a friend and he suggested that I take it to a place like Line-X and have the spray in bedliner applied to the floor surface.

Will that work or is that a bad idea?

Not a bad idea if you have the money, but it will cost you 500 bucks minimum
