I have a question. How many of you have actually attended the school you root for?

Sat next to a guy at the UCLA/USC game last year. Was decked out in SC gear. He went to Fresno State! Never set foot on the USC campus before let alone going to school there!

I'm currently going to my school and will continue rooting for them... no matter what! ;)

I went to Embry-Riddle, and though we don't have a football team....I'm of the opinion that we are going to suddenly win the BCS championship just on pure merit!

-Yeah right!

Otherwise, I like the Toledo Rockets or the Michigan Wolverines [MgoBLUE!]

Wow, aspeck. I think that's about the ugliest half of football I've seen in a long time. The posters on the game thread on the Iowa Rivals site are about ready to fire Ferentz on the spot. Foaming at the mouth.

Hey Bassman, didn't get to see the game ... out of town, but I did get to listen to the second half. Sounds and, from the highlights I saw, looks like out defense came to play. We HAVE to get the quarterback situation squared away. Bolden, I believe, has better skills, but the team plays better for McGloin ... better leadership, I guess. I would like to see the offense go with McGloin, and then use Bolden, because of his athleticism, as a wide-out, wildcat, slash type player. I think that would bring a whole new demention to the offense and make us dangerous.

GO PENN STATE!

Re: College football teams

Unfortunately for us, it looks like the team that lost to Iowa St is the team we've got. The no huddle is not quite so magical against a defense that can blitz. Our O-line couldn't protect our QB and the D-line couldn't pressure Penn St. Hopefully these things will improve, but for the time being, there is no joy in Mudville.

GO HAWKS!

Smack is good at Football time. :D
Looks like Florida's next loss is Auburn?

My UCLA BRUINS barely beat the powerhouse from eastern Washington know as Washington State! Was a battle of back-up QBs in a game which neither team thought they were good enough to win! On to University of Arizona to meet another powerhouse(0-4 in Pac12).

Another one of those cheater teams. However, I am surprised at them picking up Al Golden as coach. Golden should work hard to bring some integrity into the program. He cut his teeth playing and coaching for JoePa and there was some hope he would come "home" when JoePa finally decides it is time to retire.

And Penn State plays Purdue THIS Saturday. Hopefully PSU can avenge the Gopher's loss! (If all goes well I will actually be in the stands for that one!)

Re: College football teams

That would be very cool, Aspeck, to be able to attend the game. Nothing like college enthusiasm!

Say, the Big 10(which now has 12 teams) is split into 2 divisions, Legends and Leaders. Is the gameplan at the end of the season to have the top teams from each division play eachother to determine who is the Big 10 champion? I just can't keep up with all the teams changing conferences like they are this year. It's just mad, mad I tell ya!:)

The Big 10 (which now has 12 teams) will have the first conference championship game in its history. The Big 12 (which now has 10 teams) will NOT have a conference championship game for the first time in its history. Ain't progress great?
