Re: Complete Newb, a few questions + need help!(LONG, sorry!)
Well, despite the overwelming opinions here to go the spray method instead of roll/tip, i guess i will attempt to roll it on, due to lack of funds + knowledge of using one of those machines! I know there is a ton of sanding involved, i dont mind though, got plenty of time on my hands...
I plan on doing the shopping for supplies today and tomorrow. Is it best to get everything online, or look for a place local to pick up everything? If someone could provide a list of the items needed to take on a project like this, it would be much appreciated! Im kinda lost, as usual
The gel coats i have seen online range anywhere from $20 to $150! My plan so far is to go with the cheap stuff, thinking that if i make any mistakes or anything i can just start over or something. Thoughts on this ingenious idea??
Also, is there a certain type of roller and brush i should get? What about the squegee(sp?) method? What tool is used for this?
If there are threads ob here i can read with this specific info, i will be glad to go back and start reading!
I guess online is my best option for getting my supplies, not sure though.
The hull is patched up, sanded, and ready. No primer is needed for gel correct?
Thanks everyone! I wouldnt even have the deck coated by now without the help of this forum!
