Hey guys,
So I was wonder if it is normal that my 2 stroke 50 horse circulates less water the fast I go. It seems to suck the most water while it is in neutral but pretty much as soon as I put it in gear it sucks about half as much water then even less when I am at 3/4th throttle. Does anyone know how the system works on this motor? I can't think of why this would happen. The motor is a 1991. thanks guys.

Oh and the reason why I even bother to care is about two weeks ago it overheated and I noticed it wasn't sucking much then. I did replace the impeller and it seems to be better but I'm just worried im going to get out in the gulf and have it overheat again.

Re: Cooling system question?????

Most of the water exits at the bottom from the exhaust snout. So you won't see it exit.
You didn't fill out the profile. You operate in salt water(you said gulf).
So your pressure relief is probably stuck and flow won't be mormal.J

Thermostat is located at the top of the head. Thermostat cover is item #26, held on with three screws. Thermostat itself is #23. Br prepared to replace the gasket #25 if you remove the cover.
